Remodel at the Seminary Church-Perryville, MO
Last year I was hired to design the interior and exterior of the Mary, Queen of all Saints Mausoleum on the grounds of the Mount Hope Cemetary, in Perryville, MO, if you recall. So this year when I was asked if I'd be interested in selecting the new finishes that we're going to be replaced within the Saint Mary's of the Barrens Church, I didn't hesitate a second with my reply. Absolutely!
If you didn't know... the "Seminary" aka Saint Mary's of the Barrens Church was founded in 1818 by the Vincentian Priests and the Seminary Campus is where they lived and studied. In 1917 students at the Seminary began construction of the grotto. Next year will mark the 200th anniversary of the church and the 100th anniversary for the grotto, both of which are being updated.
I have been working with Richardet Floor Covering and the small design committee to select the new flooring, restroom vanities, plumbing fixtures and mirrors. All of these changes are due to be complete by the end of December for the Christmas masses. Phase two, painting, will take place after the first of the year in 2018.
